Wellington Leadership team!
Developed in early 2022, The Wellington Leadership Team overseas the operations in Wellington. We love that this team upholds our values, is financially sustainable, and ensures we are truly a youth focused organisation. This team is overseen by Ashley Peters, WORD Founder and CEO. They each work 10-20 hours/week on various roles that keep WORD ticking (and growing!) along.
Izy Alloway
Social Media and Admin Support! Izy joined the Leadership Team in October last year to drive the WORD social media and help Tom with the mega admin required to keep WORD running. Isla Day
Young Women and Girls Lead! Thanks to SportNZ funding, Isla's been in this role for the past 2 years to help grow and support girls and young women at WORD. Instructor Coordinator and Whanau Support Lead! We're stoked to have Liam join us on the Leadership Team to focus on building and maintaining a rad Instructor and Assistant Instructor Team as well as being the main point of contact for WORD Parents and Caregivers. WORD Lead Instructor team!
The WORD Lead Instructors are the bee’s knees! They are responsible for their own group of kids as well as overseeing the Instructors and Assistant Instructor team on the day of each after school programme or holiday camp. They are highly experienced MTB Instructors and well equipped to handle emergencies. The are creative, adventurous and can wrangle a group of 30 kids any day. We are so happy to have these amazing people! And yep, you saw it here… gender equality among our top team!
*Lead Instructors are PHEC (Pre hospital emergency care) trained and mentor the Instructor and Assistant team.

WORD Assistant Instructor Team!
WORD Assistant Instructors help out the Instructors during the after school programmes. They are passionate 14-16 year olds who have been part of WORD as a participant and are now keen to share their love of riding with the younger ones. Keen to join the team?
