Bike-a-Palooza Wānaka!

Saturday 7 December 2024!

New Zealand’s best, super fun, and most rad kid’s mountain bike event ever!

This amazing event is brought to you by the WORD Assistant Instructor Event Management Crew! A collection of our awesome 14-16 year olds plan and run the whole event!


4 Great Courses to Choose from…

Orange Course

Recommended age: 2-6 year olds.

The young ones will jump on their runner bikes or small pedal bikes and boost up to the stream crossing and back! (2km) Parent supervision is required for the orange course… be prepared for a little jog or slow ride ;)

Green Course

Recommended age: 7-9 year olds.

Kakariki up, halfway up, down the Uptimus Climb shortcut, Fern Berms, back to base!

Blue Course

Recommended age: 10-12 year olds.

Kakariaki up, Jacks Spot, Jairolla Fern Berms, back to base!

This course is TIMED.

Black Course

Recommended age: intermediate/Advanced 10-13 year olds. 

Kakariki up, Switch it up, Lower Baywatch, Jairolla, Fern Berms, back to base!

This course is TIMED.


Registrations

Registrations are NOW OPEN

*On the day registrations are still available from 9am at the Check in/rego table at the Bike Glendhu base building.

This event is limited to 150 kids.

Individual- $20 online ($25 on the day) Bike Glendhu season pass holder

Individual- $30 online ($35 on the day) Bike Glendhu day pass included

Family (3 kids)- $50 online ($60 on the day) Bike Glendhu season pass holder

Family (3 kids)- $80 online ($95 on the day) Bike Glendhu day passes Included


Timeline

9am- Check in and On the day registrations at the rego tent at the main Bike Glendhu base building
9.50am- Event Briefing (kids and parents to attend)
10am- START!
Race order:
Black Course (Timed)
Blue Course (Timed)
Green Course
Orange Course (parents allowed to walk/ride with this group)
11.30am (ish)- Spot Prizes!


Volunteer Marshals Wanted!

We are on the look out for some cheery people to be marshals for our favourite event of the year. We have spots for people on foot or bike, yay!

Knowing the trails is a bonus, but not necessary. You will be supplied a sweet orange vest and paid in smiles, food, and cheering.

8.30am- Meet at Bike Glendhu for marshal briefing
11am- Finished!
